A recruitment campaign by Bus Éireann seeks to attract more diversity in the workforce and includes a female only information day on 24th March which is taking place in bus driving training schools across the country.”

The Recruitment Open Days are commencing on 10th February with events at the five Bus Éireann training schools that are open to all with a valid car driving licence.

Bus Éireann Senior Manager Talent and Diversity, Linda Allen, said: “We are committed to being a great place to work for all our employees, where everyone can be themselves and reach their full potential, in an environment that is inclusive and supportive. We love that our people bring with them diverse perspectives, experiences and backgrounds, reflecting the communities we serve.”

She added: “Some people will put barriers in their own way when considering this career, that they don’t have a D Licence. They might be overawed by the idea of driving such a big vehicle, or they may consider that it’s only a job for men. Our campaign will instil confidence and dispel any of those doubts. We are encouraging applicants to move on with their lives and career supported by a company that offers best in class training, is ambitious and forward looking.”

Becoming a driver with Bus Éireann provides workers with a permanent job providing a service that is respected by communities across the country. Our Recruitment Open Days present a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations with our colleagues, gain insights into our company and apply and be assessed for exciting job openings.”

The Recruitment Open Days seek to attract individuals with driving licenses in categories D, C and B. A series of special Open Days are also planned where applicants will have a chance to be trained for upgrading their category B, C license to D.
