Basta
"Basta" was established almost 60 years ago by the Gallagher Family and is located in the town of Tubbercurry, Co. Sligo. In 1990, the company was taken over by a group led by our present CEO Kevin Norton. At that time the company was a small player in the ironmongery business, mainly in the Irish market, with only a small range of products. Basta has become the brand leader for ironmongery in Ireland, and exports Worldwide.
Basta continues to manufacture in Tubbercurry and its sales and accounts offices are also there. Following a number of acquisitions in Britain, Basta also has a manufacturing and distribution facility in Wolverhampton, England.
The Company now has 52 employees. Tubbercurry is the second largest town in Sligo and Basta has a long tradition with the town with indeed generations of families working or having worked there. It is a vital source of employment for the local area.
